Saturday 26th October 2013. Halloween Disco at the Lonny Wilsoncroft Community Centre, Stepping Lane Derby. Starts at 4.00pm until 6.00pm. 50p entrance fee for each child (under 3's free). All children must be accompanied by an adult. There will be refreshments, and a bar, candy floss, games and a fancy dress competition for the children. So come along and enjoy the fun and games. All money raised will go towards the minibus appeal.

The New Zealand Community Association has set themselves a new challenge. We know from talking to local residents that many of you have a great fondness for the Friargate Bridge and are concerned about the state it is in. We have resolved to do something about this and would like to form a committee to approach the council and see what their plans are, and then work out how we can get this bridge back to its former glory. Saturday 3rd August 2013 is the date, Cheviot Street Recreation Ground the place and 11.00 am the time, of our annual Gala Day. Parade starts at around 10,30 from the Lonny Wilsoncroft Community Centre, Stepping Lane. Join us on a walk down to the park, led by the Rolls Royce Marching band. A fun day for all the family with many attractions, including the Cestrefeld Viking Reenactment Group setting up camp and showing us how they lived in the middle ages. Thanks to all who attended the Quiz Night. It was very enjoyable, Mu's strawberry scones went down a treat, and we had a very exciting finish with two teams on the same score, and having to have a tie breaker question. But in the end, the Brown Bowls team were the winners, and they are putting their winnings towards their annual Christmas dinner. Thank you also to all who helped in making the night a success. We raised £95 for the Mini bus appeal.
