A big thank you to everyone who came along to Handford St Park yesterday to attend our Gala Day. We hope you enjoyed the day. If you have any suggestions of how we could make things better or new things we could do, let us know and we will see what we can do.
I have to thank our many volunteers without whom we would not be able to put on this event and the many other events we hold each year, but this one is particular is a time consuming and very physical activity. Theres alot of moving of equipment and setting up to do. So a big thank you to Mu and Paul for providing us with delicious refreshments throughout the day, to Sue and Rose on our Charity Shop stall, to Lynn and Janet on Raffle, Sarah on the Pringle Surprise and the Lollipop game, Pauline, Nick and Fay on Teddy Tombola, to Joyce, and Peter on Hoopla, to Cllr Adrian Pegg on Pot Luck, to Andy and his family on the Plant and Bug Hotel stall, and to Fab on Facepainting and Craft table for the kids. Also thanks to Mrs Tumble (Coe-Coe) for entertaining the kids with her magic show and balloon modelling, and a big thank you to Sumo (Steve Pateman), for the use of his electricity supply, we couldn't have done it without you! Thank you also to Steph Holt our Neighbourhood Manager who came down to the park the week before to do a clean up for us, and for Jude who went over the park with a keen eye, picking up rubbish and dog poo on the morning of the event, to make sure the place was clean and tidy.
Thanks to those who provided raffle prizes - DCFC, Morrisons (for their lovely hamper), Hickory Dickorys, Clip n Climb - both on the Kingsway Industrial Park, to Steph Holt for getting us the Plant hamper, to Andy for the amazing hanging basket, Fay for the bottle of wine, Joyce for baking cakes, everything was very much appreciated.
Our next event will be a Jumble Sale at the Community Centre on July 13th 3-4.30ish. Look out for facebook notification and posters in the local shops. Hope to see you there.
