New Zealand Residents Meeting

On Monday 29th September from 6.30pm there will be a Residents Meeting at the Lonny Wilsoncroft Community Centre, Stepping Lane, Derby. This meeting is for residents living in the New Zealand area. The New Zealand Community Association will be running the meeting and the local police team will be in attendance. If you wish to hear what is going on in your area, raise an issue that you feel is important, or just attend and be part of your community, come along and join us.

Decorate a Christmas WIndow

The New Zealand Community Association is celebrating Christmas in a big way this year. For the first time the Community Centre will be lit up inside and out for the festive season. We are hoping to hold an event on Handford St Park, and to coincide with that, we are launching our Decorate a Christmas Window Competition. We have chosen the theme of the song The 12 days of Christmas. So you could pick one of the 12 days or do all of them. Its up to you. Gala Day 2014

Well what a Gala Day we had this year! After all the beautiful weather throughout the week to then have the rain! We did know to expect it, but we hoped the weather forecasters might have got it wrong! Never mind - we carry on regardless. So a big thank you to all the people who came down in their wellies and umbrellas to support us, and there were quite a number of you. Even bigger thanks to the volunteers who helped run the event, under these circumstances. Shells Belle's Swing Night

Just had to write a little about the Swing Night. What a fantastic event it was! We raised almost £500 for the mini bus appeal but more importantly everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The band were fantastic, with Lizzie Farrell providing the vocals and Sophie Ward and Michelle Farrell on Trumpet, Marie Helen and Jane Ingram on Saxes, Sarah Hancock on Bass, Laura O'Donnal on Drums, and guest musicians Mark Briggs on Piano and Charlotte on Trombone and Wendy on Drums.
