As you may be aware, from an article in the Derby Telegraph on Friday 3rd October, the building formerly known as the Step-In Childrens Centre, has been sold at auction and could become an Asylum Hostel. The New Zealand Community Association has set up a petition for those who wish to sign it, opposing this scheme. The site is close to the community centre, a nursery, and a school, and we do not feel this is the right place for this facility. Halloween Disco

It's time for our annual Halloween Disco here at the Lonny Wilsoncroft Community Centre,Stepping Lane. Friday 31st October 2014 between 5-7pm. Entrance fee - 50p for each child, adults free. Come dressed up in your best Halloween costume and enter the Fancy Dress Competition. Shake your groove thing in our Thriller dance competition. Refreshments and bar. Games for the children, and the opportunity to book your childs place at the Childrens Christmas Party in December.

Charity Race Night

Another of our great race nights at the Lonny Wilsoncroft Community Centre. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Come and watch the horse racing on the big screen. 50p bets. Bar and Refreshments on sale. All proceeds to go to the Mini bus appeal.

Movie Afternoon

During the half term holiday there will be a movie afternoon for children in the New Zealand area, free of charge, at the Lonny Wilsoncroft Community Centre, Stepping Lane. The movie will be a recently released DVD appropriate for primary school children. Doors open 1.30 for a 2pm start. This event, as the Sports Session, has been paid for by a grant from Comic Relief.

During the October half term, on Thursday 30th October between 2-4pm there will be a free sports session for children between the ages of 4-11years of age. There are limited spaces available so if you would like your child to take part please contact us via the website or telephone 290458 to book a place for your child. This event has been paid for by a grant from Comic Relief. The first session will be one hour of football and one hour of mini tennis.
