Just had to write a little about the Swing Night. What a fantastic event it was! We raised almost £500 for the mini bus appeal but more importantly everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

The band were fantastic, with Lizzie Farrell providing the vocals and Sophie Ward and Michelle Farrell on Trumpet, Marie Helen and Jane Ingram on Saxes, Sarah Hancock on Bass, Laura O'Donnal on Drums, and guest musicians Mark Briggs on Piano and Charlotte on Trombone and Wendy on Drums.

Lots of the most memorable of swing music were performed including Fever, Embraceable You, Bandstand Boogie, Smoke gets in your Eyes and many more.

A fabulous meal laid on by Mu Ludlow, along with her merry band of ladies who served it up, Jean, Fay, Tracy, Melissa, and Pauline - well done girls, I don't know how you did it so quickly and efficiently, almost 70 portions of American Fried Chicken, Chips, salad and peas and sweetcorn.

The bar was watched over by Jo Lawton and myself, and Lynn Marley was on the door and raffle ticket seller.

A big thank you to Shells Belles who gave their time free of charge. I can thorughly recommend them if you need a swing band for an event.

Thanks to all who supported us by attending.
