Friday Night Bingo has been running at the Lonny Wilsoncroft since 4 July 2008, and has raised alot of money for us over the five years it has been running.  Unfortunately, over the past two years the amount of people attending has reduced significantly.  We gave it a break whilst we had the kitchen built, and hoped it would pick up again when we started back in April this year.  Unfortunately that has not happened, so we have made a decision to cancel the weekly friday night bingo sessions and try holiding it just once a month.

Bingo will now take place on the first Friday of every month.  All are welcome.  The more that attend the bigger the prize money!  Come along and make it a night to remember, and help us raise funds for our new Mini bus.

Can we take this opportunity to thank our regulars who have supported us through the years.

Quiz Nightby mandy on 10th June 2013

Come along to our next fundraising event - a Quiz Night at the Lonny Wilsoncroft Community Centre, Stepping Lane, Derby.  Saturday 29th June, doors open at 7.00pm for a 7.30 start.  As well as the usual question rounds, there will also be a chance to take part in some family favourites from the tv - Play Your Cards Right, Take Your Pick and Family Fortunes.  Top prize of £30.00 for the winning team and lots of spot prizes throughout the night. Bar and refreshments available

So come and join us for a fun evening and help us raise money for our Mini bus appeal.

Mackworth Ward Gardening Competitionby mandy on 2nd May 2013

The New Zealand Community Association has got together with Mackworth Neighbourhood board to bring you the Mackworth Ward Gardening Competition.  This competition is open to all residents of the Mackworth Ward.  The categories are Best Garden front or back, best hanging basket/container, best allotment, best commercial property, Best Street/Road/Avenue, etc, Best Scarecrow.  The judging will take place during July and the winners announced at the New Zealand Gala Day on August 3rd.  The scarecrow competition which is for children will be judged on August 3rd, so bring down your scarecrows to the park on the day.  The best garden, best allotment and best commercial property all have a prize of £50.00 worth of B&Q vouchers, the winners of the other categories will receive a trophy for their efforts.

This competition has been put together to help us to make our neighbourhood a brighter, cleaner and more lovely place to live and also promote community spirit.  So come along and join in the fun.  Lets make a difference to our neighbourhood.
