Don't forget our 50p Sale starts today at both Charity Shops, it will run all week (or until the stock runs out). Lots of bargains to be had on Clothes, Shoes and Handbags! Also, tonight at the Lonny WIlsoncroft Community Centre on Stepping Lane we are holding one of our regular Residents Meetings, so if you have any issues you wish to discuss regarding the New Zealand area please come along and have a chat. As most of us know, there has been a couple of major changes within the council these past few months. We have a new Mayor, Councillor Mike Carr from the Liberal Democrat party and the Conservatives are now leading the council. With these changes, leaders believed it to be a good idea to go out and connect with the public. All parties were invited to attend a residents meeting at the Lonny Wilsoncroft community centre, located in the New Zealand area. We will be holding our Residents Meeting on Monday 31st July. Doors opening at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. We have invited to local police team along. Councillor John Whitby, the Mayor of Derby and our local MP Chris Williamson wil be in attendance. So come along to talk with them about your concerns about our neighbourhood.

A big thank you to all New Zealand residents who turned up for the meeting regarding Shows Waste and the fly situation. You made your feelings known. Unfortunately we will have to wait for the bureaucratic wheels to turn, but the fight will go on to get the recycling centre closed completely. So watch this space and keep in touch. We will be holding a meeting on Monday 6th June 7pm (doors open at 6.30), regarding the issues caused by Shows Waste Management. Please come along and talk to the powers that be about the problems we are experiencing at the moment with flies, but also the dust, smell and the big lorries going through the estate disrupting our lives. We are asking, if you are using fly papers to control the flies that instead of throwing them away, you put them in a bag or box and bring them to the meeting with you, so that we can show what we are having to put up with.
