April 29th is a day for all our diaries. We will be holding an indoor street party on the day of the Royal Wedding. Proceedings will begin at 10.00am. We will watch the wedding on our big screen, followed by a buffet meal. We will provide the sandwiches, you bring a plate of something to share! There will be a licensed bar and following the buffet there will be a disco, with games and fun for all the family. Race Night at the LWCC

Last night the Lonny Wilsoncroft Community Centre hosted its first Race Night. And what a night it was! First and foremost we raised £264.76 for our Kitchen. Everyone enjoyed themselves and entered into the spirit of the occasion, shouting on their horse during the racing. Most people won something on the night and a good time was had by all. The bar was run by Pat and Josh and Tracy served refreshments, while Mandy and Joanne ran the Tote. Mu and Fay did a sterling job selling programmes and raffle tickets, I don\'t think anyone escaped without buying something! Well...

Family Disco

New Zealand Community Association held a Family Disco on Saturday 26th February, starting at 6.30 and going on until 9.30pm. Over 60 local people attended this event and £166.00 was raised for the Kitchen fund. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, particularly the children who enjoyed the music and the games of musical chairs. Our next event will be on Saturday 26th March at the Lonny Wilsoncroft Community Centre. This will be a Race Night. Come and enjoy horse racing, a licensed bar and refreshments, a fun night for all. Kitchen Installation Update

Money for the Kitchen now stands at just over £3,000. We held a very successful Jumble Sale on Saturday 29th January and raised almost £200. Our next event will be on Saturday 26th February when we will be holding a family disco. There will be a licensed bar - all alcoholic drinks £1.00. Refreshments will also be on sale. Entrance - 50p. Starting time: 6.30pm until 9.30pm. Come along with the family and enjoy the evening and help your local community centre.

Kitchen Installation

We are looking forward to a very full year of events at the Centre this year, as we are raising funds to install a commercial standard kitchen. We have had a quote for the work of £26,000, which is alot of money, but the Management Committee are determined and willing to work hard this year to raise as much money as possible. In the last two months of 2010 we managed to raise over £2,000. This money came from a Jumble Sale, the Christmas Fayre, (both of these events were very well attended by the local community - so thank you very much).
